Billiards and snooker meeting coming soon Print E-mail
Written by Billiard master
A meeting for billiards and snooker's fans of the BSAF was ordered by tribunal Filimone Jitoko of the High Court, Suva for August 26th at Nausori Club at 10am.

However, after half an hour had passed, there was no quorum present, so Chairman, Des Whiteside, adjourned it until September 9 to be held at the Fiji Club at 12pm, in accordance with the Constitution.

"This will hopefully be the start of an available action to bring the sports back on track, following the blatant refusal of the Committee to adhere to the Rules which govern the sport" says Whiteside.

He further states: "The Committee will be made to answer to significant rates of incompetence and willful neglect of the Constitution in the performance of their duties.

They have also shown contempt for the Law by organizing and running tournaments in contravention of an injunction that was placed on them and continue to show disrespect for member Clubs by spreading malicious rumours and innuendo against the Director of the Association - a position that has been upheld by Justice Jitoko in his wise ruling of 10th August in the High Court."

"The actions of the Committee have resulted in the demise of the sport, especially over the past 15 months, when no participation in international events (Oceania and the World Snooker Championships) was possible because of their refusal to abide by the Rules of the Constitution."

"All member Clubs have the unexpected chance to set the brilliant academic reports straight and to chart a particular direction to take the recreation forward, while exploring remedial actions that can be implemented to curb any such breaches of protocol in the future.

"Member clubs are requested to send 2 delegates to this very important SGM.
