30 snooker players traveled to North Wales as part of the Ireland group Print E-mail

Nenagh's Josh Burke is one of 30 snooker players who travel to North Wales this Friday as part of the Ireland group who will be competing in the 2007 Home Internationals. The 7 youngest group members were involved in a final practice session in Carlow last weekend before the week long event.

The Under-16 team will be joined in Prestatyn by the Irish Senior, Over-40's, Ladies and Under-19 teams, but it's the youngsters who will have the busiest schedule over the 7 days of play with 10 matches in all. They will compete against Northern Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland and an Invited team from the hosts Pontins throughout the week playing each of them twice. All the players selected from the Irish rankings have played all year to qualify for the tournament and have played numerous practice sessions over the summer as well as take on visiting teams from Northern Ireland, Wales and Qatar running out winners in all events.The group made up of 4 players from last year's group in Andrew Gray, Jason Devaney, David Cassidy and Daniel O'Regan. Sean Conway, Tony Moore and Josh Burke will make their presentation in the event which will be held in the World Snooker Qualifying Venue in Pontins, Prestatyn.
